Story by a ‘Periyar Pinju’ A BOY AND HIS TOY

In a small village, a boy lived with his mother.
One day, they went to a shop. The boy saw a toy and asked his mom,
“Ma, I want that toy.”
His mom gently said,
“No pa… I don’t have enough money now.”
But the boy asked again,
“Amma, please… I want that toy.”
His mother replied,
“No pa… after Appa comes, I will try to buy it.”
The boy became quiet and said,
“Okay ma… I don’t want it. Sorry ma.”
The next morning, when he woke up, he saw the toy on the shelf!
He called his mother excitedly,
“Mom! When did you get this?”
His mother smiled and said,
“You asked for it, pa… I wanted to see you happy.”
The boy hugged the toy, paused for a moment, and said,
“Yes mom, I am happy… but I also feel sorry. I shouldn’t have asked.
I won’t ask for toys again ma.”
His mom hugged him tightly and said,
“It’s okay pa… I love you.”
“I love you too, ma!” he replied with a smile.
